Fungi are not an exception when it comes to conservation action for biodiversity. Moreover, at The Fungi Foundation we believe they are critical for the outcome of conservation at large. Putting fungal public policy in place is a task never undertaken until an NGO from Chile committed to getting political justice for Kingdom Fungi. Our work also takes on the task of working on the symbolical level of public perception of the fungi kingdom. To secure the future of fungi we need sound science, legislative action and creative transformation of our perception/understanding of our dependence on fungi for life. The latter is being developed through a pioneer project to integrate art, science and citizens at large in conjunction with Fundación Armar. The results are promising!
